Tonk is Jay Brown on the vocals and acoustic guitar, Lin Peterson on Telecaster and vocals, Ben Barwick on bass and vocals, Bo Taylor on drums and vocals, and Shepherd Lane on the pedal steel guitar. Tonk plays country music in the fashion of the great masters of the 60's and 70's, that is, country music pre-somewhere-around-1978. Heavy on the Ray Price shuffle-walking-bass-line sort of thing, but bleeding into a Waylon Jennings / Johnny Paycheck harder honky tonk style. Their live show swings such that folks can't help but dance; whether it be to hot shuffles or devastating ballads. The band has spent the last year refining their recording technique, and a full length album will be forthcoming
